Land Selection
At Forest4Future, we focus on identifying fallow or degraded land that is ideal for the long-term growth of native deciduous trees. These are often areas that have been neglected for decades, sometimes even generations and where the natural forest ecosystem has not recovered after historical deforestation.
We prioritize plots that were once forested but have since been overtaken by dense weeds, brambles, thorny shrubs, and aggressive ivy. These invasive plants prevent trees from regenerating naturally by suffocating young saplings before they can mature.
Our goal is to re-establish native deciduous forests, ecosystems that not only capture significant amounts of CO₂ but also support a wide range of plant and animal life.
By restoring these landscapes, we help revive the natural carbon cycle and create habitats for biodiversity to flourish once again.
In most cases, Forest4Future acquires the land outright. This ensures long-term protection of the newly planted trees and allows us to steward their growth on behalf of future generations.
